City & Guilds 2079 F-Gas and ODS Regulations

Crownship’s training courses is to provide the learner with the knowledge and skills to work on the installation, service, maintenance, recovery and leak checking of stationary refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump equipment that contains refrigerants classified as either fluorinated (F) gases or ozone depleting substances (ODS).

Crownship’s F-Gas Regulations training courses are designed for both experienced air-conditioning and refrigeration engineers and also candidates who are looking to cross train and gain qualifications in the air conditioning / refrigeration sector.

All personnel whose work involves the handling of refrigerants within the scope of the F Gas regulations will need to be assessed by City & Guilds or equivalent by July 2011.

Crownship offers the new City & Guilds qualification to meet the legal requirements of EC Regulation 842/2006 (commonly known as the F-Gas Regulation).  The Certification Schemes are designed for operatives who install, service and repair refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump systems, and require the following skills:

  • Safe Handling of Refrigerant Techniques
  • Pipework and Jointing Skills
  • Recovery of Refrigerants (restricted to small systems only)
  • Intrusive and Non-Intrusive Leak and Performance Checking of Systems
