City & Guilds / EAL 2395 Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations

This qualification is aimed at experienced personnel working in the electrical industry, looking to gain an understanding of the new Electrical Installation Condition Reports. The qualification is not intended for non-qualified electricians and/or those who do not have experience in inspecting, testing and certifying electrical installations. Candidates without this experience should consider gaining the Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations and/or obtain further industry experience.

The course will give candidates the knowledge and practical skills required to complete Electrical Installation Certificates or Minor Works Certificates on electrical installations before putting them into service.

  • How to complete Electrical Installation Certificates including the inspection and test results schedules
    Course Description
     
    Theory / Practical
     
    The requirements of BS 7671 for inspection, testing and certification, practical demonstrations of specified tests, ‘hands on’ sessions and preparation for written and practical assessments are covered.

    The course consists of:
     
  • Training - 5 days
  • Practical assessment (4 hours)
  • Written examination (upto 2½ hours)
  •  
  • "One-to-one" practical assessment of upto 4 hours duration with a qualified Assessor.
  • Upto 2½ hours examintaion depending on which certification body you choose. City & Guilds examination will comprise of multiple choice online exam answer and essay-based questions. Dates are set by City & Guilds and will take place during an evening. EAL examaminitaion are multiple choice online and have flexible dates.
