  • 3rd attempt (verbal – only the questions incorrect after 2nd attempt to be retaken) held during practical assessment – 100% required if not already attained on 2nd attempt
  •

  • Written consists of 2 papers. You need to obtain a score of 100% on 1st attempt
  •
Appliance Assessment - all appliances (1 Day)

You can however mix the two routes as outlined below:

    Re-Assessment Training / Initial Assessment

    Re-Assessment Training – CCN1 & Appliances updates (3 Days)
    CCN1 Written Exams – 4 papers (1 Day)

  • 1st Attempt on each paper - no minimum score required
  • 2nd attempt on each paper (only the question incorrect after the 1st attempt to be retaken) - minimum score of 80% required after 1st and 2nd attempt combined
  • 3rd attempt (verbal – only the questions incorrect after 2nd attempt to be retaken) held during practical assessment – 100% required if not already attained on 2nd attempt
  •
    CCN1 Practical (1 Day)
Appliance Assessment – consists of written and practical (½ day per appliance)

This route gives the candidate the update/refresher training for the last 5 years with all the chances on the CCN1 Written which is the element within ACS Renewals that causes the most problems.

If you decide to go down the Re-Assessment Assessment route and 100% wasn’t attain on the written the assessor would discuss with the candidate the next best step forward, as at this point he is classed as a “Referral”. This means candidates would get another chance to re-attempt the questions that were incorrect. Once this re-sit has taken place (within 3 months of the original date) and the candidate has still not achieved 100% this is classed as a “Termination”. Crownship at this point is obliged to inform GAS SAFE as the candidate will no longer be able to sign off on their work. At this point the candidate’s only choice is to retake the ACS course again except the only route the candidate can go down is the Initial Route.
