The course is designed for employees at all levels who are required to use personal protective equipment in the course of their work

To enable employees to comply with the requirements of the Personal Protection Equipment at Work Regulations 1992.
 
Objectives
 
On completion of the course, delegates will be able to:
 
  • Understanding and applying the requirements of the regulations within their areas of responsibility
  • Applying risk assessment techniques in identifying potential sources of harm from their work activities
  • Carrying out calculations of the degree of protection required for specific hazards
  • Identifying relevant standards and inspection requirements for protective equipment
  • Selecting and reviewing the provision of personal protection within the workplace
  • Understanding the limitations of protective equipment in the control of workplace risks
  • Identifying training needs of users in the use, maintenance, inspection and storage of equipment
